New Business

It was noted that the name on the society’s checking account is incorrect.  For clarification, the correct name of the society is:  Alaska Medical Assistant Society.  The checks were printed a number of years ago when the bank was the National Bank of Alaska.  The Executive Board unanimously agreed that new checks should be ordered from Wells Fargo with the correct name of “Alaska Medical Assistant Society”.

Kathy Snell, CMA, CLPlb, moved to remove Diane Caudill, CMA, as a signer on the checking account.  Motion carried.  Molly Kretchik moved for Robin Wahto, RN, CMA, Secretary, to be added as a signer to the checking account.

Kathy Snell, CMA, CLPlb, reported that a donation was sent to national in support of the educational speakers; Alaska Society will not be listed on the list in the program, but will appear in the daily newsletter at national.

The start time of the state convention and the state seminar was discussed.  It had been suggested to Amy that the meetings start later than 8 am so attendees who wanted to fly would be able to fly the same morning of the meeting.

The state convention will be held in Fairbanks on April 25-27, 2008.  The state seminar will be held in Anchorage on November 10, 2007.

The cards for the House of Delegates representatives need to be signed by both the President and the Secretary.  Amy will mail the cards to Robin.  Robin will sign the cards and give them to Molly Kretchik, CMA, to hand carry to national.

The meeting was adjourned at 12:50 p.m.

Robin Wahto, RN, CMA

Secretary, Alaska Medical Assistant Society
